Resumo: The Apache Point Observatory Galactic Evolution Experiment (APOGEE) was designed to discover new terrain – by taking high-resolution infra-red spectra of red giants throughout the heavily obscured Galactic midplane. I will present some recent APOGEE results in terms of Galactic Archaeology and its synergies with asteroseismology. Finally, I will discuss science that will be possible with APOGEE-2 and by combining APOGEE with Gaia and K2 data, with a focus on projects with Brazilian involvement.
